The Salzkammergut is an area in Austria that stretches from the city of Salzburg along the northeastern Alps to the peaks of the Dachstein mountain range. Salzkammergut translates to 'salt land,' and Kammergut is a German term for territories held by the princes of the Holy Roman Empire, in early modern Austria, especially the territories of the Habsburg monarchy. The salt mines in the Salzkammergut were managed by the imperial Salzoberamt in Gmunden from 1745 to 1850. However, the region is not only known for its salt mines today but has evolved into a modern mountaineering, climbing, and hiking area that surprises visitors with its breathtaking views.

Starting from the early hours of 5:00 am, we will travel by van to Mondsee, where we will embark on the Drachenwand via ferrata C/D, which is 560 m long. We will then drive to the Postalm plateau and descend to the stunning wild gorge of Postalmklamm, through which the eponymous via ferrata C/D, which is  530 m long. The wildness of the gorge will leave us anything but indifferent. The via ferrata will treat us to seven bridges, including a suspension bridge with ropes, and a climb alongside a waterfall. The summit will reward us with magnificent views.
