An adrenaline sports via ferrata with a 40-meter hanging ladder
The Intersport via ferrata at the Großer Donnerkogel takes you to one of the most beautiful views in the world after a long climb. The via ferrata is led in a rock, where rungs and vertical lead you to the famous ladder, which gives this via ferrata a stamp. On the ladder your feet will surely shake a little. At the top there is a view of the Dachstein and other peaks.

An excellent, sporty via ferrata classic on the west side of the Dachstein (2995 m). The highlight is a 40-meter giant hanging ladder, over which we cross a deep gorge. In four very different stages on the via ferrata Intersport Donnerkogel, we ascend to the Großer Donnerkogel (2054m). This via ferrata is one of the most controversial projects in the region in Austria.
Via ferrata is NOT SIUTABLE FOR BEGINNERS. You need mountaineering experiences or experience in climbing of easy via ferratas graded at least B.
The tour starts in the village of Gosau, on the border between the Salzburg and Upper Austria, which is about 2 hours drive from Mojstrana. From the parking lot at Lake Gosau, we will ascend up to the Gablonzer hut (1522 m), where we will start the tour. We will start by climbing in the northwest wall of small Donnerkogl and after a long rung we will face a difficult spot for the first time. After that we will reach the pre-peak of small Donnerkogl. From there on, with easier climbing, with a little descent, we will reach the gorge, where the famous 40-meter ladder awaits us. Adrenaline will run through our veins. It will boost as we climb the beautiful ridge of the great Donnerkogl, which will take us to the top. We will descend along a normal (easy) route to the early Gosaukammbahn gondola station.
For the via ferrata, we recommend a basic self-protection set - a helmet, a climbing harness and a self-protection system. If you do not have your own equipment, you can also rent it from our agency.
Guiding is for adults and children over the age of 15. The guided tour starts by appointment, and with our transport we will pick you up in front of your room, apartment or hotel. We take care of all the necessary technical equipment.

Equipment
Your own equipment: sportswear suitable for the season, low or high trekking shoes with a profiled sole, ferrata gloves (or ordinary workgloves), a small backpack where drinks and snacks go.
Technical equipment: self-protection system, climbing harness, helmet, via ferrata gloves (in case you do not have your own, we provide them).
We take care of all the technical equipment. Rental of technical equipment is included in the price.
